A diamond is a cut diamond. Interestingly, jewelers select no more than 20% of the stones from all mined in the world. Diamonds with microcracks, cloudy spots and various inclusions are used only in industry. To achieve a sparkling shine, jewelers have to use different processing methods. Sometimes, to create one 1-carat diamond, a diamond three times larger is ground.

The complexity of cutting and the ever-decreasing number of diamonds forced scientists to look for alternative ways to create diamonds back in the 18th century. And only in 1954, researchers managed to reproduce something remotely similar to a diamond. It took another 60 years of painstaking work of scientists and billions of dollars so that in the modern world they could create artificially grown diamonds in the laboratory, no different from natural ones.

Grown diamonds are the same diamonds, only created by man, without defects, chips or scratches, with the same structure and shine. They do not fade with time, are stronger than natural and easy to care for. Laboratory diamonds are ideal for creating jewelry. They are so "natural" that not every jeweler will be able to distinguish an artificially grown stone.

And the improvement of technical processes allows you to create real giants. If 50 years ago the maximum size of an artificial stone did not exceed 1 carat, today it is already 34 carats. By the way, this is the largest artificial diamond in the world.
