What is the difference between lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds? алмазами?

В чем разница между выращенными в лаборатории алмазами и природными алмазами?

Lab-grown diamonds are created in a laboratory, in conditions that duplicate natural environment of natural diamonds. Our scientists and state-of the art technology allow for significantly accelerating diamond growth process.

Whereas it takes millions of years for the natural diamonds to grow in the earth’s crust and come to us as a result of laborious and very costly processes of ore mining and land processing (See details button - link to B&P diamonds page).

  • How can I check the authenticity of a diamond and determine, if it is grown in a lab or natural one?

How can I check the authenticity of a diamond and determine, if it is grown in a lab or natural one?

Lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds with similar characteristics, and look the same even for one’s experienced eyes. Tools like microscopes or magnifiers cannot detect the difference between a lab-grown and mined diamond.

Cheap diamond testing tools used by jewelers are designed to establish, whether it is a fake or real diamond. These tools are elementary and are not able to accurately distinguish between natural and lab-grown diamonds.

The gemological equipment required for a reliable determination of whether diamond is mined or lab-grown is quite expensive and prices more than 15,000 USD, and hardly everyone can afford it.

It is important to know that all lab-grown diamonds weighing more than 0.30 carats are certified by specialized gemological laboratories and labeled with a microscopic laser inscription. Using a microscope or a magnifier, you can find a unique identifier on the diamond yourself and verify it in a public database.

Lab-grown diamonds are classified according to the same standards as mined diamonds and are provided with certificates from international gemological laboratories with the required mark of origin (GIA, HRD, IGI, Moscow State University, MGL, etc.).

  • How does the growing take place?

How does the growing take place?

Lab-grown diamonds are absolutely identical to natural ones. They are composed of carbon atoms, and have the same optical, physical and chemical properties.

We create an environment where diamonds develop naturally; it completely duplicates the conditions for the formation of diamonds in the earth’s crust.

Any lab-grown diamond is made from a tiny diamond crystal. It is placed in a chamber that reproduces the natural growing process.

Most often, 2 methods are used, either extreme pressure and heating - HpHt (High pressure High temperature), or a special gas deposition process - CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) - both recreate the natural environment for the development and growth of diamond in nature (See details on the process button - go to Diamond Life page.)

  • How to determine the size of the product?

How to determine the size of the product?

The most important thing to buy jewelry is to determine its size. How well you choose the size of the ring, bracelet, will depend on whether you will wear it with pleasure, how comfortable you will be in it, and how long it will last.

Wrap the wrist with a thread or strip and mark a convenient point of girth. Attach a thread or strip to the ruler, measure the length, and select the appropriate size.

If you already have a ring, take the decoration, circle it on the inside and measure the diameter of the resulting circle.

Or take a thread and wrap it around the desired finger. So you will get the circumference of the finger under the ring. Then expand and measure the resulting length, check the result in the table.

  • Why is the difference in the price of a lab-grown and natural diamond that big?

Why is the difference in the price of a lab-grown and natural diamond that big?

The final price of a diamond is greatly affected by the price and time of developing natural deposits, labor prices, as well as further investments in the process of ore mining and land processing. After mining, the diamond path goes through exchanges and intermediaries, which also contribute to the formation of the value of the stone.

Due to ultra-precise scientific technology, the price of creating a perfect lab-grown diamond has been significantly reduced.
